New Jersey attorneys can assist in cases of domestic violence

Sadly, some people do not know how to effectively communicate with a significant other or how to effectively channel their anger. For some individuals, the ineffective communication can result in domestic physical or emotional abuse. Because authorities take any accusations of domestic violence seriously, accused New Jersey individuals may be interested in another couple's complicated case.

Authorities apprehended a 21-year-old woman during a traffic stop suspecting her of drunk driving. Allegedly, the interaction was not peaceful, and the woman assaulted two officers in the process. She is accused of kicking one officer in the face and the other in the leg. While in custody, it was noticed that she suffered from a swollen nose and two black eyes. Authorities claim that the woman accused her boyfriend of punching her in the face three to four times.

Authorities began an investigation and located the boyfriend. Upon reading the boyfriend's text message exchanges with the woman, they discovered that she claimed to have received the injuries to her face from the traffic stop-arrest. Because of the text messages, authorities arrested the woman for filing a false report against her boyfriend.

Individuals who have been accused of similar charges of domestic violence can attest to the value of advice from an experienced attorney in New Jersey to advocate on their behalf. Such charges can affect employment, reputation and custody of any minors. Additionally, family law attorneys can assist individuals who need to make genuine claims of abuse. Attorneys can advise on the best course of action and inform individuals of legal options of protection against an alleged abuser.
