Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at odds over high asset divorce

Many people might assume that having a lot of money solves any problem imaginable. However, that is a very simplistic view. For those here in New Jersey who are going through a divorce, having a great deal of wealth can actually complicate matters as both spouses and their professional teams work to determine the best way to split assets. Even people in Hollywood aren't immune, as evidenced by the fact that movie stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still trying to settle their high asset divorce.

The two decided to part ways back in 2016. They share six children together and have reportedly been having difficulty working out child support payments and other custody issues. Sources say they also disagree about who should retain their estate and winery in France, known as Chateau Miraval.

Brad Pitt apparently went to Alcoholics Anonymous for a year and a half since he and Jolie ended their relationship, saying that he'd done as much as he could on his own to improve himself. Angelina Jolie said in a recent interview that their breakup was painful for her, but she also marveled at how the experience humbled her. Reportedly, the two have moved past their initial hurt feelings and don't argue often anymore.

Though their divorce is probably not typical of most wealthy people, it does show just how delicate the process can be. Those here in New Jersey who are going through a high asset divorce may want to consult an attorney who understands the detail needed in this type of proceeding. Ideally, a resolution that works for all parties will be found and everyone can go forward with their new lives.
